Dolphin Summer Team Building Events

Hello Dolphin Families and Happy Summer!

We hope you and your families are staying healthy and safe. We would like to announce and invite you to a few team-building events open to Dolphin swimmers of all ages and their families.

    Upcoming Events

    • 4th of July Car Parade (Saturday, July 4, 10am)

The WRA is sponsoring a CAR PARADE on July 4th. We hope our Dolphin families will join in the fun! Please see the WRA 4th of July flyer for more information.

    • Chalk It Up (Monday, July 6, 6pm-7:30pm)

Come join us for an evening of creative fun and to kick off the holiday weekend! Bring your chalk box, artistic talent, and Dolphin spirit and meet us on Dalebrook Avenue where we will have a socially distanced chalk party! We will start on the sidewalk square in front of the pathway leading to the WRA pool house and move out to the left towards Waynewood Blvd and to the right towards Potomac Lane. We suggest chalk artists position themselves on every other sidewalk square to maintain social distance. We look forward to seeing you on Monday!

    • Senior Day, (Saturday, July 11, 9am)

Our Senior Day will take place on Saturday, July 11. Please stay tuned for ways we plan to honor our 2020 seniors!

    • CANstruction (Monday, July 13, 2pm-8pm)

This wonderful Waynewood Dolphin tradition combines team spirit and community service. The past few months have been hard on many, and food pantries are in need of donations. In past years we have had teams construct from the canned food that is donated by our Dolphin families. Due to social distance guidelines, we can't construct our cans this year~ but that doesn't mean we can't have a little competition between the girls vs. boys. Let's make a difference~ the team with greater donated weight wins! Please drop off your donations to the following swim team rep houses:

GIRLS - Mortimer House, 1105 Potomac Lane

BOYS - Morris House, 8604 Cyrus Place

    • "Rock Around Waynewood" (Monday, July 20, 6pm - 7:30pm)

Over the past several months, we have noticed painted rocks around the neighborhood promoting happiness and good cheer. We invite you to channel your artistic spirit and paint a rock (or several) and place around Waynewood. Let's show our Dolphin spirit one rock at a time!

Start painting your rocks today! On Monday, July 20, with your family, place your rocks along our "rock route" which will include the perimeter of Dalebrook Drive, Potomac Lane, Conover Place, and Waynewood Blvd. Please place rocks in close proximity to the sidewalk on these streets so others can find them to enjoy. Spread the kindness and remember to social distance!

"The Kindness Rock Project is a viral trend where people, commonly children, paint pebbles or cobbles and leave them for others to find. Photos of the painted rocks and hints of where to find them are commonly shared on social media. The trend originated in the United States and has spread to many other countries around the world."
