Waynewood Dolphins Friday Midweek Reminders

Reminders:

1. Volunteer Shifts for the next 3 Home Meets are now open to all Dolphin Volunteers--Grab a spot or two! Is your favorite job filled already? Try something new! We need to fill all our shifts to run our meets smoothly for the swimmers. https://waynewood.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

2. Ribbons from the first B meet can be found in the family folders! These can be found on the lower shelf to the left of the guard desk in the entrance of the pool house. Thank you Julia Hill for getting these ready for us this season.

3. Our Photography Leads, Rob Bluey and Brett Gibson have set up a new team site for pictures! https://waynewoodswim.smugmug.com/ There are already some wonderful pictures of Time Trials & the First B Meet posted. Rob and Brett will continue to add more photos as the season goes on!

4. The Swimtopia App is fun but limited!. You can download it from the app store and use it to view your swimmers events, best times or swim history. You can even see your volunteer assignments. Unfortunately, you can’t sign up for meets or volunteer shifts using the app. Enjoy!

5. The Next B Meet is Monday 6/21 at Home against Hollin Meadows. It’s not too early to sign up to swim! Remember, everyone (except Little Dolphins) is allowed 2 strokes plus IM. 10 & Unders check with Coaches for approval on Breast and Fly

Remaining Calendar for the week

Thursday, June 17th

• First Teen Night – Dolphin Kickball! Updated set up time 6:30pm, game time 7pm

The teens are celebrating the beginning of Summer with a kickball tournament on WRA grounds. The teens have the WRA field reserved starting at 6:30pm. They will start setting up, but the game won’t officially start till 7pm. Remember to wear appropriate footwear!

IMPORTANT: Participants must be registered Waynewood Dolphin swimmers and be 13 or above on the date of the teen night to attend. Please respect that no exceptions will be made.

Friday, June 18th

• First Pep Rally for ALL Dolphins (Big & Little) – “Motivational T-shirts” 6pm outside the pool house

Coach Dylan asks that everyone bring a plain Blue or White T-shirt to the pep rally on Friday to decorate with Dolphin Spirit. The results are always really cool. Paint and masking tape will be provided. If our more artistic Dolphins want to get a head start, they are welcome to make stencils ahead of time and bring them to the Pep Rally. It will be great to see our Dolphins sporting these T-shirts at practices and events! In addition, there will be cheers and the announcement of the week’s practice monsters ....don't miss it!

Helpful hint: contact paper makes for an excellent stencil.

Saturday, June 19th

• Home A meet - Waynewood v. Villa Aquatic - 9am

Swimmers will be notified no later than Thursday if they are participating in this meet. We will be sending out a list to parents late Thursday night or early Friday morning to confirm. Those swimming in the meet will need to arrive at 7:45am on Saturday morning for the 8am warm-up. The meet starts at 9am. Click here to fill our remaining volunteer needs!

Parents, please remember to leave our parking lot open for our visitors on Saturday morning. If you live close, walk or bike. If you choose to drive, please park legally and considerately on our neighborhood streets.
