1.The Dolphins Win Their First A Meet plus there’s a new Team Record!
The Dolphins were shedding time right and left as they glided by the Villa Aquatic Gorillas (255.5-158.5). A team record was surpassed in the process.
- Moses Wolf swam the 11-12 50 breaststroke in 37 seconds flat, improving his record of 37.71 from Monday night. Keep it going, Moses!
- Coach Dylan reports that the Dolphins, as a team, have dropped 7 minutes and 19 seconds off their times so far this season. He has set a goal for the team of losing 30 minutes off their Time Trials times by the end of the season! Swim Fast at the B Meet Dolphins!
- If you are a "stats-nerd", Individual Times, Team Results and League Standings can be viewed at NVSL’s website: www.mynvsl.com .You can look up friends from other teams and see how you stack up against other swimmers in our Division and in all of the Northern Virginia Swim League. Unfortunately, only A meet results are posted there.
2. Volunteer Info
- Thank you to our wonderful volunteers! We have filled out shifts at our meets for this week with the exception of 2 slots at tonight’s B meet: an early shift at the tables and a late shift in the clerk of course. Sign up here. First timers are cheerfully trained!
- More volunteer shifts are going to drop at 7pm on Tuesday reports Heather Vieira, our Volunteer Coordinator. Let’s keep filling these slots! It’s fun to work with old friends and new--Try a new job!
- Heads up, A Meet Timers! Our Chief Timer for A meets, Anna Stolarz, wants you to know that A meet timers work the whole meet, just like other volunteers! As caterpillars become butterflies, our timers undergo a metamorphosis at the relay break. Some of our timers will stay in position to time the relays and others become Relay Take-off Judges. Nothing to be afraid of—we provide the simple instructions you’ll need!
3. List of 10 & Under Swimmers cleared for Breaststroke and Fly
As we have mentioned, our Coaches ensure that our 10 & Unders can swim breaststroke, butterfly or IM legally before swimming them in a meet. Coach Dylan has made a list our 10 & Unders annotated to show who is eligible to swim those strokes. There is a tab for 8 & Unders and one for 9-10s. He will update it over the course of the season. CLICK HERE to view. If you should have any questions, please contact Coach Dylan.
4. Update on T-shirts, Caps, Spiritwear and Suits
Spiritwear Coordinator Katie Mead sends the following update: We still have a bunch of personalized t-shirts and swim caps that have not been claimed, as well as the other spiritwear/swim suits that came in on Friday. I will set it up this morning for distribution. The second batch of shirts are due to arrive at the end of the week, so stay tuned on pick-up for those!
Quick note on Spiritwear… For those who ordered a trucker hat or cinch bag, they were delayed in production, but ARE coming soon. For those who ordered sweatshirts/long sleeve hoodies, unfortunately, we did not meet our minimum order amount, and so Sportfair will refund the money for those. (I know- bummer! I ordered one, too….)
Last, TODAY is the deadline for ordering parent t-shirts/tanks from the parent pop-up store at Custom Ink. They will arrive in early July. Check out the website .
