1. A Meet Results. Congrats Seniors!

The Lakevale Estates Dolphins beat our Waynewood Dolphins this weekend but it came down to the relays. The final score was (225-195). It has been an exciting season and we have a 2-2 record so far. Hopefully our Dolphins can win our last A meet on Saturday!

Seniors Allison Cooke, Griffin Keightley, Aidan Lansburgh, Callie Stinson, Kylie Rapp and Payton Rapp took their Senior Lap in the pool on Saturday. Individually and as a group they have contributed much to the team and our community over the last 13 years and we wish them well as they head to college in the Fall! Go Senior Dolphins!

2. A Few Volunteers Needed for Monday’s B Meet.

Thank you, volunteers! We are fully staffed for most of the meet, but we will need 9 extra timers to jump in as the Mansion House Team departs after the Butterfly swim. We're not doing online signups for this role but if you're around after butterfly please just come over to the deck. We’ll be on our own for IMs but it will be fun!

3. Planned IM Tri-Meet, Monday July 19th @ Waynewood

Mount Vernon Park, Hollin Meadows and Waynewood Swim Teams are working to come together on Monday July 19 for an IM only meet. 100 IM is a 100meter race with 1 lap each of 4 different strokes (Fly, Back, Breast and Free). As soon as Team Reps Frederick and Tom have confirmation, we’ll be opening up sign ups/availability on our Swimtopia site. Stay tuned!

4. The End of Year Banquet, Awards Ceremony, and Team Pool Party is ON!

Buy your tickets now for the end of year celebration which will be held at the pool on the evening of July 24th. This year's banquet will again be catered by Northside 10. Tickets are $18 per adult, $12 per child. Click here for more information and to buy your tickets! Ticket sales close Tuesday, July 20.

5. Waynewood Winter Swim 2021

Our swimmers get a great benefit from staying in the water during the school year! Team Rep Tom LoCascio has already been working on our winter swim reservations for the season. We’ll be ready to announce the program to you next week so stay tuned!

6. Schedule for the Week

Monday, July 12th – Home B Meet - Mansion House @ Waynewood – 6pm

• No Afternoon Practice
• Home B Meet v. Mansion House

It’s the Last B Meet! Swimmers should arrive at our pool at 4:45pm for a 5:00pm warm up. The meet starts at 6p.m. Please leave our parking lot open for our guests! Please walk, bike, or park legally and considerately on our neighborhood streets. The meet will proceed in standard order (Free, Back, Breast, Fly and IM)

Please Note: Swimmers should remain in the Team Area until they are finished swimming for the evening. Coaches are focused on the meet and the team area and cannot retrieve swimmers from wall ball court, recreation pool, spectator or concessions area for their heat. Thank you!

Thursday, July 15th – Teen Night – Dolphin Prom!

• It’s the Dolphin Prom for our teens! Dress is “As Classy As You Wanna Be”. You might want to wear your “sensible shoes” though…It’s a walking progressive dinner.
• Teens should sign up at practice starting Tuesday morning and bring $15 to cover Noodles & Co. for entrees. The path of the progressive dinner is still being finalized. We will share those details later in the week.
• IMPORTANT: Participants must be registered Waynewood Dolphin swimmers and be 13 or above on the date of the teen night to attend. Please respect that no exceptions will be made.

Friday, July 16th at 6pm – Pep Rally – The Pie in the Coaches Face!

• A timeless classic involving trivia questions and lots of whipped cream. Of course, we will announce practice monsters and decorate our sidewalks with Dolphin Spirit! Stay tuned for more details.

Saturday, July 17th – Last A meet – Waynewood @ Sleepy Hollow Bath & Racquet – 9am

• Make sure that you have indicated your Swimmers’ availability or non-availability by 11p.m. on Monday! Swimmers will be notified no later than Thursday if they are participating in this meet.

ALL Swimmers should be up at the pool at 7:10am to decorate cars caravan departing at 7:30 for Sleepy Hollow Bath and Racquet (SHBR) at 3516 Sleepy Hollow Rd, Falls Church, VA 22044. Don’t be fooled. Sleepy Hollow Recreation Association (SHRA) is right next door. Make sure that you pull into the correct lot! If you choose to drive separately, you are required to email our Team Reps ahead of time. Please remember to do this, we do not want to be calling people at 7am to locate or replace swimmers.
