We’re less than three weeks away from the start of after-school practice and our registration for Summer 2022 is going strong! We have 245 swimmers registered so far—keep ‘em coming! Registration will remain open through the first week of Little Dolphins practice (mid-June), but you must register no later than TOMORROW (Thursday, May 12^th) if you want to participate in the preseason team t-shirt and swim cap order (for full details on registration see the instructions later in this newsletter).

Emblemax is running the store this year, and offering all sorts of good stuff, from sweatshirts and long sleeve t-shirts, to shorts and PJ pants, as well as parent shirts- t-shirts, performance wear shirts, and tanks, all in both men’s and women’s cuts, and in 2 different colors, each! Be sure to click on the color drop down when making your selections. The Waynewood swim trucker hat is back on the menu this year as well!

In order to get everything EARLY this year for both the swimmers and parents to enjoy sporting at the meets and throughout the entire season, all orders will be due by Wednesday, May 18. This should get us all of our swag in by Time Trials.

Volunteers Needed for Key Roles

We’re deeply grateful that so many parents have raised their hands to continue helping. The team still has some immediate and longer term needs to fill with lead volunteers. These roles include:

Meet officials: We’ve had some recent retirements and need some new volunteers who’d be willing to learn and eventually become certified to work in a variety of roles as NVSL officials at our meets.

Communications Lead: The team would benefit from a volunteer to help communicate through these kinds of emails about team events, reminders, and needs. This involves working closely with the Team Reps and while it takes season-long attention, the work can be done from home or an office.

Concessions Leads: We have seven events where we’ll be selling concessions and we’re dividing these events into three parts. We need volunteer leads for each of these three roles. If you AND a friend want to share duties in one of these roles, we’d be happy to work with you on volunteer credit and we’ll have experienced guidance available so no prior knowledge is required.

Shadow Team Reps: This is the second WWD season for Dolphins Team Reps (Tom and Frederick). Waynewood’s tradition is to switch volunteer leadership every two years. If you love Waynewood Dolphins swimming and would be interested in a role that will have you working with your neighbors, learning more about swimming, and getting some pretty cool seats at swim meets please let us know of your interest. We’d be happy to give insights into how we perform this role, you don’t need a deep swimming background, and there’s absolutely no commitment that comes in having a conversation with us.

Taking on any of these roles will fully meet your volunteer commitment for 2022. If you have three swimmers, that’s a minimum of 8 required shifts. Consider how taking one of these roles might create more flexibility as we do accommodate volunteer leads who have to miss a meet from time to time during the season. For more information email the Team Reps.

2022 SEASON REGISTRATION OPEN!

Registration is NOW OPEN! The cost for swimmers is $170 for the first swimmer, $140 for the second, $120 for the third, $35 each for any additional swimmers after three. The deadline for registration to ensure inclusion in the first team T-shirt and cap order is May 12.

In order for your swimmer to participate, you must login and provide:

• WRA Member or Approved User number
• Insurance Information
• Approval of WRA Waiver, NVSL Waiver and COVID Addendum
• T-shirt size (Last name)
• Swim cap (optional – cost: 2 for $23) (Last name)
• All email addresses to send swim team notifications for the 2022 season.

Returning families are asked to log on using the same e-mail as last year. Please do not create a new account. If you have forgotten your password, please use the forgot password function.

When registering swimmers, please put the name they want to be called in the "first name" section, even if that name is really their middle name or nickname.
