1. Pasta Potluck – Tomorrow, Friday June 10 at 6:30 pm

Our swim season officially kicks off with a Pasta Potluck dinner following practice this Friday night at the picnic area in front of the pool. This event is for all Dolphin and Little Dolphin families! So, come meet the Team Reps and Coaches and celebrate the beginning of another fun Dolphin season!

Here’s the breakdown for food dishes families should bring:

• Last Name begins with A-C: Sides and salads (enough to feed 12-14 people)
• Last Name Begins with D-G: 2 loaves French or garlic bread, cut into slices
• Last Name Begins with H-O: Desserts
• Last Name Begins with P-Z: Large pasta dishes

Seating may be scarce so consider bringing a picnic blanket and/or lawn chairs. The team will provide beverages.

2. Time Trials – Saturday, June 11th at 9 am. (Warm up Times Below!)

This is a rain or shine event we need to get done. If adverse weather forces us to suspend the event, we will ask volunteers to stay and help us as soon as we can safely resume.

We have warm-ups for different age groups listed below. Make sure your swimmers get to bed at a reasonable hour on Friday night, so they can be at the pool on time in the morning!

●11 & Over 8:00am - 8:20am

●9-10 8:20am - 8:35am

●8 & Under 8:35am - 8:45am

We still have some open volunteer shifts for Time Trials. We have experienced volunteers at your side in each area to train you!

In particular we need Clerks of Course, second shift Timers (9 more), and third-shift Marshalls to close off the meet. Please help. Families may now sign up for more than two shifts to fill these roles! https://waynewood.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

3. Volunteer Reminder for Little Dolphins parents

We can't wait to see all your Little Dolphins Swimmers on Tuesday! We would like Little Dolphins parents to please remember that even if you have just one Little Dolphin your registration includes a commitment to volunteer for at least two shifts this season for meets and events (and it goes up if you have more swimmers). We strongly encourage you to sign up for positions at these early home events. None of the posted positions require expertise or past experience. To sign up, click here

4. Team Suits

Last Chance! Sport Fair will be at the pool for our Time Trials on the Saturday, June 11^th at 8:00-9:15 am (this means buy your suit before the meet starts). If you can’t get there, contact www.sportfairusa.com.

5. B Meet for Monday, June 13 - The Deadline to sign up is 6 pm, Saturday, June 11

All swimmers in the competitive program (not Little Dolphins) are permitted to swim in B meets. Each swimmer can select two strokes plus IM. Before signing up for Breaststroke and Butterfly, all 10 & under swimmers must check with the coaches to determine if their strokes are legal. Please visit https://waynewood.swimtopia.com/swim_meets to sign your swimmer up for strokes. We’ll have Time Trials results posted a couple hours before the 6 pm B Meet deadline.

For Monday’s B Meet, swimmers should arrive at Mount Vernon Park (8042 Fairfax Rd) at 5 pm for a 5:20 warm up. The meet starts at 6 p.m. The meet will proceed in standard order (Free, Back, Breast, Fly and IM—if time allows).

6. A Meet availability for the 6/18 9 am home meet with Fairfax Station is due Monday at 11 pm

7. Summer Schedule starts on Monday, June 13!

Please note that on most Mondays, and most other days when we have an evening swimming event, there are no afternoon practices for Dolphins or Little Dolphins.

Our Little Dolphins start on Tuesday, June 14!

Our coaches will be administering the swim test for Little Dolphins at noon and 5:30 pm. Once your Little Dolphin swims, you may take them home and return (assuming your swimmer passes) on Wednesday for regular practice.
