1) 2024 Swim Team Registration OPEN!
The 2024 registration cost for swimmers is $180 for the first swimmer, $150 for the second, $130 for the third, $55 each for any additional swimmers after three. In addition Swimtopia, the team’s data management vendor, charges a $3 per swimmer fee and there is a small surcharge for paying online with a credit card (that can be avoided if paying by check). These fees cover practice, meet participation, and a team T-Shirt. Swimsuits and goggles are a separate cost. The deadline for registration to ensure inclusion in the first team T-shirt and cap order is May 24. You can still register after this but your Team T-shirt won’t come in the first order (the only order arriving before the first meets) and you may not be able to order a personalized cap.
Please read the instructions below before going to the Waynewood Dolphins website to register:
In order for your swimmer to participate, you must login and provide:
- WRA Member or Approved User number (remember these changed in 2022)
- Insurance Information
- Approval of WRA Waiver, NVSL Waiver, T-shirt size
- Personalized swim cap (optional – cost: 2 for $30)
- All email addresses to send swim team notifications for the 2024 season.
Returning families are asked to log on using the same e-mail as last year. Please do not create a new account. If you have forgotten your password or are encountering a problem, please use the forgot password function or email Team Reps. Duplicate accounts cause problems with team data keeping and must be canceled/corrected.
When registering swimmers for the first time, please put the name they want to be called in the "first name" section, even if that name is really their middle name or nickname (even though the directions in Swimtopia indicate otherwise).
Here is the link to registration – https://waynewood.swimtopia.com/ (look for the red “Register Now” icon)
Checks should be made payable to "Waynewood Recreation Association”.
Please remember that only swimmers registered with WRA as being from dues paying households of current WRA members and WRA approved users are eligible to participate. Please reach out if you have any questions about this.
If you have read and followed the instructions and are still having difficulty registering, contact the Team Reps.
Reminder: Super Sunday (team swimsuit purchase opportunity) is the afternoon of Sunday, May 5. We will send more information soon.
2) Order Dolphins Spirit Wear
https://wwdolphins2024.itemorder.com/shop/home/
A big THANK YOU to our new Spirit Wear lead volunteer Stephanie Morris. Emblemax is running the store again this year and offering a selection for kids and adults. We have sweatshirts, shorts, PJ pants, t-shirts, performance wear shirts, tanks and much more all in both men’s and women’s cuts, and in 2 different colors. Be sure to click on the color drop down when making your selections. The popular Waynewood swim trucker hat is also back! Last year, families only had this one chance to place an order so think about hot weather and don’t miss out.
In order to get everything in this year for both the swimmers and parents to enjoy sporting at the meets and throughout the entire season, all orders will be due by May 26. This should get us our swag for early season meets.
3) Reminder: Coach Applications Due 4/20
The Waynewood Dolphins are looking for coaches for the 2024 Summer Season. Competition for these positions is consistently fierce. Please be thoughtful and thorough with your answers and put your best foot forward.
Coach applications will be accepted until 11:59 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Late applications will not be accepted. The coach selection committee will meet in late April with a goal of extending offers in early May (with Little Dolphin coach offers likely coming later).
Age requirements for the jobs:
- Assistant Head Coach: High school graduate
- Assistant Coach: Completed 9th grade
- Little Dolphins Head Coach: Completed 10th grade
- Little Dolphins Coach: Completed 7th grade
Please click here to view the online application and apply.
4) Concessions Volunteer Lead Needed
Thank you to all the WW Dolphins parent volunteers who have stepped up to serve as lead volunteers this season! We have one opportunity left: Concessions Lead. Our previous volunteer has offered to train the next, and we are fast approaching the new season without this important role filled. Our team earns quite a bit from concessions at home meets, which helps keep our swimmer fees down. Also, we need this position to coordinate selling food at meets (like Chick-fil-A). Please drop the Team Reps a note to learn more about this important role that fully fills your volunteer requirement in doing so! PS we only have 5 home meets (2 A meets, 2 B meets, and the IM invitational), so it should not be a significant hour commitment!
