1) Super Sunday is May 5
Come and meet our team leadership to ask any questions about the swim team. While registration is online, our swimsuit vendor Sport Fair will be on hand to sell team suits (more details below). This is the best and most convenient time to buy and try on a swimsuit.
Super Sunday will be on the WRA grounds from 1-3 pm rain or shine.
2) New Dolphins Team Swimsuit
The Dolphins have a new team swimsuit design this year. The team typically changes models every two years. This isn’t to make you buy new suits, but because manufacturers generally only produce a given design for two years before phasing it out. This year’s model is Disco Boom (royal) made by Speedo. The previous team swimsuit was made by Arena and the sizing difference among the manufacturers is quite substantial – so we’d highly recommend having your swimmer try on a suit rather than estimating it based on his/her team swimsuit from last season. Costs of suits this year offered by vendor Sport Fair for sale at Super Sunday are:
Male Brief -- $32.76
Male Jammer -- $38.61
Female -- $45.24
(6% tax not included)
Little Dolphins can purchase team suits if they like – sometimes they enjoy looking like the big dolphins – but there isn’t a competition need for it. If you cannot attend Super Sunday, you can purchase suits directly from Sport Fair by contacting or visiting: 5010 Lee Hwy, Arlington, VA 22207. Phone: 703-524-9500. Tell them you want the Waynewood Dolphins team suit.
Please keep in mind that while the Waynewood Dolphins swim team has worked with Sport Fair to coordinate a team suit and sell suits on Super Sunday, the team is not a party to purchases with Sport Fair and any returns or exchanges will need to be worked out directly with the vendor. You may also be able to find this swimsuit through other vendors.
While having coordinated suits makes the team look sharp at meets and in photos, many (but not all) suits are legal for NVSL meets. Let us know if you have questions about swim suits.
3) Enrollment Update
We’re only a little more than 4 weeks away from the start of summer practice. So far, over 120 swimmers have registered for the 2024 swim season. We suggest everyone register by Friday, May 24 or else your T-shirt order will only come much later in the season than our first priority order.
Here is the link for registration – https://waynewood.swimtopia.com/ (look for the red “Register Now” icon). Please remember that only swimmers registered with WRA as being from dues paying households of current WRA members and WRA approved users are eligible to participate.
Returning families are asked to log on using the same e-mail as last year. Please do not create a new account. If you have forgotten your password or are encountering a problem, please use the forgot password function or email Team Reps. Duplicate accounts cause problems with team data keeping and must be canceled/corrected. When registering swimmers for the first time, please put the name your swimmer wants to be called in the "first name" section, even if that name is really their middle name or nickname (even though the directions in Swimtopia indicate otherwise).
4) Parent Handbook
For those wanting to learn more about our team and how it operates, we’ve updated our parent handbook for the 2024 season. It’s on the front page of the team website and you can read it here.
