Waynewood Dolphins Winter Swim 2024

Winter Swim sign ups open this Saturday, August 24 at 10:00 a.m. This year, the Dolphins will swim at the George Washington Rec Center. Our practice group will need to be spilt this year: the Dolphins will have two lanes at 6 p.m. and four lanes at 7 p.m. 

Practice assignments will be made after signups are complete. While the team cannot guarantee a specific practice time, we will refund you if you make an immediate request upon receiving a session assignment that cannot work for your family. We will try to avoid splitting siblings between practices. 

The first scheduled practice is Sunday, September 8 and the last practice will be Sunday, May 18, 2025. Waynewood will not practice on the following Sundays: 

• 12/1, 12/22, 12/29, 4/20 

Our Winter Swim program this year is open to: 

1. Returning members of last year's Big Dolphins team aged 12 & under (on September 30, 2024) 
2. Little Dolphins who are at least 6 years old by September 30, 2024, AND have completed at least one summer of Little Dolphins AND expect to swim as a Big Dolphin (8 & under) next summer. 

Exception requests must be approved before signing up. 

We have 60 swimmer slots this year for winter swim. Last year, the Dolphins filled all Winter Swim slots the day sign ups opened. If you receive a message that sign ups are full, email Team Reps ([email protected]) to be added to the waitlist. 

Please remember that, once the season starts, our policy is not to give refunds if a swimmer drops. We sometimes make exceptions to this when we have families on a waiting list who can pick up the prorated balance for remaining practices and last year a number of families were added from the waitlist during the season. We have this drop policy because our costs for the season are essentially fixed. Swimmer costs this year will again be $265 for a first swimmer, $240 for a second, and $215 for each additional swimmer. 

The team reserves the right to prioritize families that met 2024 volunteer obligations during summer 2024 over others. On Saturday at 10:00 a.m., look for a link here to sign up. If plans for opening registration change significantly, we will send an update.
