1) 2026 Swim Team Registration OPEN! 

The deadline for priority registration to ensure inclusion in the first team T-shirt and cap order is April 30. 

• The 2026 registration cost for swimmers is the same as last year: $185 for the first swimmer, $155 for the second, $135 for the third, and $60 for each additional swimmer after three. 
• Registration costs cover practice, meet participation, many team spirit events, and a team T-Shirt. 
• To order a personalized Dolphins swim cap set with a name be sure to click the optional selection for the $32 add-on during the registration process. 
  • Each cap order includes two caps – be sure to write the name you want printed on the caps. 
  • Names on swim caps and T-Shirts should be a first OR last name limited to a maximum of 10 characters and no punctuation. 
• The registration cost for the Little Dolphin program (shorter season but more coaching attention) is the same as for the competitive team. 
• There is a small surcharge for paying online with a credit card (that can be avoided if paying by check). 
• Swimsuits and goggles are a separate cost (Little Dolphins may order a team swimsuit but do not need one). Team caps may be ordered during registration for an additional fee (more below). 

Note: the April 30 priority registration deadline is necessary to help get our cap and shirt order in time. You can still register for swim team after April 30 but your team T-shirt won’t come in the first order (the only order expected to arrive before the first meets) and you may not be able to order a personalized cap. 

Please read the instructions below before going to the Waynewood Dolphins website to register. In order for your swimmer to participate, you must login and provide: 

• WRA Member or Approved User number (this is a four-digit number, same as last year and the code you input when coming to the pool) 
• Insurance Information 
• Approval of WRA Waiver, NVSL Waiver, T-shirt size 
• All email addresses to send swim team notifications for the 2026 season. 

Critical information for registration: 

• Returning families are asked to log on using the same email as last year. 
  • Please DO NOT create a new account. 
  • If you have forgotten your password or are encountering a problem, please use the forgot password function or email Team Reps. 
  • Duplicate accounts cause problems with team data keeping and must be canceled/corrected. 
• When registering swimmers for the first time, please put the name they want to be called in the "first name" section, even if that name is really their middle name or nickname (even though the directions in Swimtopia may indicate otherwise). 
• Only swimmers registered with WRA as being from dues paying households of current WRA members and WRA approved users are eligible to participate. Please reach out if you have any questions about this. 
• Checks should be made payable to: "Waynewood Recreation Association”

2) Order Dolphins Spirit Wear

A big THANK YOU to our spirit wear lead volunteer Stephanie Morris. Emblemax is running the store again this year and offering a selection for kids and adults. We have sweatshirts, shorts, PJ pants, t-shirts, performance wear shirts, tanks and much more all in both men’s and women’s cuts, and in 2 different colors. Be sure to click on the color drop down when making your selections. The popular Waynewood swim trucker hat is also back! In order to get everything in this year for both the swimmers and parents to enjoy sporting at the meets and throughout the entire season, all orders are due by April 30. This is the only time the store will be open this year. So, if you want sweatshirts for the fall/winter this is the time to order your swag!! 

3) NEW: Summer Schedule Changes 

The Dolphins already have a few notable schedule changes from what we announced earlier this month: 

• Little Dolphins season start: The Little Dolphins swim test is now moved up to Thursday, June 18 (first day off for FCPS) from Tuesday, June 23. 
• Lap-a-thon fundraiser July 1: The team is adding a new event to support team activities. More details to come. 
• Third A Meet now July 3: NVSL has confirmed that the Dolphins’ third A Meet at Dowden Terrace will move to 9:00 am on Friday, July 3 from the previous July 4 date.

4) Coach Applications Due 3/31 

Reminder that applications to work as a 2026 Dolphins coach are due this Tuesday. 

• Coach applications will be accepted until 11:59 pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. 
• The coach selection committee will meet mid-April with a goal of extending offers by late April (with Little Dolphin coach offers likely coming later). 
• Age/Grade requirements for the jobs: 
  • Assistant Head Coach: High school graduate 
  • Assistant Coach: Completed 9th grade 
  • Little Dolphins Head Coach: Completed 10th grade 
  • Little Dolphins Coach: Must be 14 years of age by June 23, 2026

5) Call for Team Sponsors! 

We love our sponsors!! Having sponsors helps to offset the costs of running the swim team and keep the expenses for each family as low as possible. At every home meet we make sure to let everyone know about how our great sponsors support the team. You don’t even have to own a business! If your HR has a youth sports sponsorship program, we would love to put them in contact with our Sponsorship Coordinator. Please email Team Reps if you can help.
